# Community Ownership & Earn Model

Kik Chat is built to put users in control, with a transparent and rewarding ownership structure:

1\. Kik Points System

\- Earn points for engagement: sending messages, creating chatrooms, tipping others, or moderating discussions.

\- Points scale with impact—hosting a thriving group earns more than casual chats.

2\. Chatroom Ownership

\- Active members gain “shares” in chatrooms based on their contributions (e.g., 10% ownership for consistent activity).

\- Revenue from premium rooms (entrance fees, subscriptions, etc.) is distributed to shareholders via smart contracts.

3\. Reward Redemption

\- Redeem Kik Points for: i) Airdrops of $KIK tokens or partner project tokens.

ii) Premium features like custom emojis, boosted visibility, or higher tipping limits.

iii) Donations to other users or community initiatives. - Points reset yearly to keep the ecosystem dynamic.

4\. DAO Vision

* Evolve into a Kik Chat DAO where point holders vote on features, upgrades, and token policies.
* Early adopters get enhanced voting power as a thank-you for joining the journey.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://kik-chat.gitbook.io/kik-chat/introducing-usdkik-chat/community-ownership-and-earn-model.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
